Double Degree Business Administration and Engineering (Bachelor)
You’ll be spoiled for choice. Students of the bachelor's program Business Administration Engineering have the opportunity to obtain a double degree at Tec de Monterrey in Mexico or in Shanghai/China.
TH Köln is a long-standing member of the German University Consortium for International Cooperation (short: DHIK).
As part of this university consortium, you will have the opportunity to participate in a dual degree program at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Tec de Monterrey for short, or at the Sino-German College of Applied Sciences (CDHAW) at the Tongji University in Shanghai.
Double Degree Mexico
The Tec de Monterrey is the largest private university south of the USA with over 100,000 students and is one of the elite universities in South and Central America. Tec de Monterrey spans 31 campuses all over Mexico and actively supports exchange students in choosing a course, refining their language skills, looking for accommodation and offers a cultural program.

Exchange semester at Tec de Monterrey
This is not a problem. All you need is a Learning Agreement agreed upon with your program coordinator.

Program Schedule
The double degree program includes two semester of study in English at Tec de Monterrey, which you can complete at different locations in Mexico (e.g. Puebla, Monterrey, Mexico-City). You will then spend a three-month practical phase in an industrial company based in Mexico, often branches of German companies. Afterwards, you have the choice of writing your Bachelor's thesis at Tec de Monterrey or at TH Köln.

- Letter of motivation (max. 2 pages, including information about your preferred campus in Mexico and your language skills)
- CV
- Current transcript of records (requires at least 120 ECTS in program-specific modules at the beginning of your exchange)
- List of modules for studying in Mexico (6 courses + 2 mandatory courses of Tec; list of preferences available from the subject coordinator)
- Proof of English language skills)* (B2 level) through TOEFL, IELTS, DAAD language certificate or other language certificates
- Basic knowledge of Spanish)**
)*In order to receive the Mexican Bachelor degree, you must – in order to prove your English language proficiency - be able to present a TOEFL with at least 550 points (level C1) or – if you should study in Spanish - a certificate "advanced level" through the online test of Tec de Monterrey - by the end of your stay.
)** Participation in a Spanish course must be proven by April 30 (e.g. by certificate of attendance of a language course or language certificate).

The Department of International Affairs collects the application documents of all applicants. The program coordinator at the faculty and the coordinator at the Department of International Affairs make a ranking and forward it to the corresponding DHIK subject coordinators of the respective study program. Once your qualifications have been checked and the available study places at Tec de Monterrey have been determined, the consortium (DHIK) will inform you directly by email on how and by which deadline you must register in the online portal.

The CDHAW is affiliated with the renowned Tongji University in Shanghai. Tongji University is one of the key universities in the People's Republic of China. In the ranking of all Chinese educational institutions, it ranks among the TOP 10.

Program Schedule
The double degree program includes a semester of study and an internship of at least three months (preferably five months) in a local company in China. Many German companies have a branch office in the Technology Park in Shanghai, for example. We recommend that you start looking for a suitable internship before you leave. Afterwards, you will have to write your bachelor thesis in China.

Important note: When starting their studies at the CDHAW, applicants from the Bachelor's program Business Administration and Engineering must provide at least 150 ECTS from study-specific modules and have completed all technical subjects (at least 90 ECTS at the time of application).
