Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology
The Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology focuses on designing, constructing and maintaining our built environment such as roads, railroads, bridges, dams and buildings. Students can choose from five areas of specialization: Construction Management, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources, Structural Engineering and Transportation. Graduates typically seek employment with contractors, engineering design offices or public employers.
Roughly 800 students are currently enrolled in undergraduate programs leading to the Bachelor of Engineering degree, while another 30 graduate students are working toward their Master’s degree. The Bachelor’s and Master’s program are both accredited by the German accreditation agency for degree programs ASSIN e. V.
The faculty has 20 full-time professors, who are supported by 26 adjunct lecturers, most of whom practice civil engineering in the Cologne region, and 24 members of staff.
