Certificate Program Ready, Study, Go

Would you like to develop your skills in academic work, learn important argumentation strategies and prepare yourself for the German job market? The certificate program within the "Ready, Study, Go" project offers you all of this, including individual career advice.

The program at a glance

The certificate program consists of a German and an English track. Each of these tracks offers you workshops in the subject areas "Academic Writing and Communication" and "Application Training and German Work Culture". You can decide for yourself whether you would like to complete the German or English track. The German-language courses usually take place at level B2+. After successful completion of the certificate program, we offer you the opportunity to take part in individual career counseling.

Who can participate?

The program is primarily aimed at international degree-seeking students from German and English-speaking STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), but is also open to international students from other disciplines.

How can I participate?

As an international degree-seeking student at TH Köln, you can participate in the program and workshops throughout your entire studies. The workshops are offered every semester, so you are flexible in terms of when you take part in them. However, you must attend the basic course or part 1 before you can take the advanced course/part 2. (Students in master programs do not have to take part in the basic course in order to gain the certificate.) All workshops are usually offered digitally.

How do I register?

Please register for the certificate program by submitting the registration form.

Then register for the workshops by simply clicking on the registration link in the respective workshop announcement.

Certificate and Career Counseling

Once you have successfully completed all seven workshops in your German or English language track, you will receive a certificate from us. You then have the opportunity to take part in an individual, bilingual (German/English) career counseling session.

The interactive, person-centered career counselling consists of two consecutive sessions, each lasting 60 minutes. The first session is competence-oriented and focuses on analyzing your professional skills and reflecting your own competencies. The second session is goal-oriented and provides you with important tools and ideas for your career start.

The certificate program is run in cooperation with TH Köln’s Language Learning Center.
