Information on IWRM/NRM Vietnam for students from Vietnam/Southeast Asia
The Faculty of Spatial Development and Infrastructure Systems offers cooperative Master's programs for the IWRM and NRM courses at its partner, Thuyloi University (TLU) in Vietnam.

In cooperation with Thuy Loi University (TLU), TH Köln offers you the possibility of an exchange semester or the option of continuing and finalizing your studies in Cologne, including a German Master's degree.
Studying in Vietnam
TLU offers the IWRM and NRM Master's programs developed by the Faculty of Spatial Development and Infrastructure Systems in Hanoi. Lecturers from the faculty are involved in the courses in Hanoi, both virtually and on site. The curriculum and structure are adapted to the conditions and requirements in Vietnam, and you and your fellow students benefit from local and international expertise.
The teaching is practice-oriented and aims to train you to become a skilled interdisciplinary expert and future decision-maker for the sustainable use of natural resources. Each semester you will take part in practice-oriented project work related to the reduction of natural and climate risks, adaptation to climate change and the management of natural resources. Excursions allow you to get to know projects and stakeholders in the region.

Exchange and Master's degree at TH Köln
After you have studied in Vietnam for two semesters and achieved very good academic results, you can either
- go to Germany for an exchange to complete your studies there with a Master's degree from TH Köln or
- continue your studies in Vietnam and complete your degree there.
In both cases, your academic achievements in Vietnam will be accredited at TH Köln.
Exchange to Germany
If you choose the one-semester exchange to Germany, you will study in the third semester together with many international students from the Faculty/TH Cologne and prepare your Master's thesis intensively with your supervisor. In addition, you will have many opportunities to get to know Germany and Europe with regard to your subject. Normally, you will return to Vietnam or your home country in the fourth semester to conduct your research for the Master's thesis.

Partial Scholarships from the DAAD
Partial scholarships from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) are generally available for applicants with very good grades to study in Hanoi.
DAAD Scholarship at the TH Köln
Students with very good academic performance in the first and second semester can apply for a DAAD scholarship for a study stay at TH Köln.

If you are interested in studying in Hanoi, please contact our partner in Vietnam. They will provide you with detailed information about the program, the structure, the enrolment requirements and deadlines, the necessary application documents and the costs, and answer any other questions you may have. The application deadline is usually in June or July. You need a B.Sc. degree that is related to the IWRM and NRM Master's programs. Ideally, you should already have some practical experience in your field. You will also need proof of English language skills (ILTS 5.5 or equivalent).
