Requirements for participation
- This workshop is primarily aimed at international degree-seeking students from German and English-speaking STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), but it is also open to international students from other disciplines.
- You are prepared to actively engage in all class activities (this also implies turning on the camera during the Zoom sessions).
- Your German language skills are at level B2, proven by SLZ placement test (taken within the last two semesters) or by submission of a certificate (not older than two years).
- You have the necessary technical equipment to participate in the E-Learning units: PC/laptop with camera and microphone, stable internet connection, valid campusID.
This workshop is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

This workshop focuses on argumentation strategies and techniques in oral communication.
You will develop linguistic structures for giving reasons, arguments, evidence and examples and you will apply these structures using the debate method. You will practice short and simple justifications as well as more complex argumentation methods.
