Delegation from China visited GLOBUS
On 25 September 2019, a Chinese delegation from the Tianjin Academy of Environmental Sciences (TAES) visited GLOBUS to discuss joint opportunities in research, funding, networking and training.
Tianjin Academy of Environmental Sciences (TAES) was founded in 1975. TAES is one of the oldest environmental research institutes in China. It is the largest non-profit environmental research institute in Tianjin area. The five-member TAES delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Shi Jin, Deputy Director of the Tianjin Ecology and Environment Bureau, a renowned expert in integrated water management issues. GLOBUS Director Prof. Dr. Harald Sander was also honoured to welcome Ms. Sun Jing, Deputy Director/Senior Engineer at Tianjin Academy of Environmental Sciences, Mr. Song Bingkui, Senior Engineer at Tianjin Academy of Environmental Sciences, Ms. Li Ran, Senior Engineer at Tianjin HuanKe Environmental Planning Technology Development, and Mr. Wang Zilin, Engineer at Tianjin Academy of Environmental Sciences, to Germany and Cologne. From GLOBUS side, Prof. Dr. Stefanie Kleimeier (Maastricht University), Prof. Dr. Sabine Schlüter and Dr. Udo Nehren (both Institute for Technology and Resources Management in the Tropics and Subtropics (ITT) at TH Köln), and Steffen Wolfer (TH Köln) also attended the meeting.
The discussions taking place were very productive and fruitful. Both GLOBUS and TAES look very much forward to engaging in future collaboration.
