Application CC-Adapt Summer School
Unfortunately, the application deadline for the CC-Adapt Summer School has expired.
Who can apply?
The course is open to DAAD scholarship holders currently enrolled in the DAAD In-Country / In-Region programme (Master or PhD level) as of 1st January 2024. If your scholarship expires before or starts after that date, participation is not possible.
The course might be especially relevant to students enrolled in:
- Environmental sciences
- Civil or environmental engineering
- Water management/ Land management
- Agricultural sciences / crop sciences / agro-forestry
- Renewable energies
- Environmental law
- Geography
- Social sciences with an environmental focus
- Or equivalent
Please note:
- Attending this summer school should not compromise your regular study programme commitments or duration. This summer school will not be accepted as justification for extension of your current In Country/In Region scholarship
- You can apply for up to two summer schools in 2024. However, participation will be possible in only one of them.
- Please have in mind that participation is possible only once: If you have joined one of the In-Country / In-Region programme’s summer schools in the last years, it will not be possible to participate again in 2024.
Application Documents
- Application form in the application portal
- Letter of Motivation which clearly states, why you are interested in this course and what is your personal research interest. The letter will be submitted in the online portal and has a max. length of 450 words.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) in tabular form, a max. length of 2 A4 pages.
- Proof of English proficiency: provided as an English test result (IELTS, TOEFL and a B2 level is required) or in form of a signed and stamped certificate that proves, that a full study in higher education was completed in English language.
- Copy of your passport / ID
After the Application
Full applications received by the deadline will receive equal consideration.
During the selection process, professional staff members will review every application against our selection criteria. Formal selection criteria include gender balance, geographical distribution, and a balance between applicants enrolled in a Master vs a PhD programme. Candidates with disability are explicitly encouraged to apply!
The outcome of the selection process will be communicated until April 30th 2024 via e-mail.

Costs
The costs of the summer school are covered by the DAAD, through funds provided by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The costs include:
- Travel costs to Cologne (airfare in economy class)
- Accommodation and public transport in Cologne
- Visa fees (if required)
- Health insurance
- Excursions
Please note:
We can cover only a part of your meal expenses in Cologne. Depending on your personal food preferences we suggest to block in your budget around 150 € for meals in Cologne.
