Learning Outcomes:

Effective leadership in any environment requires more than just technical expertise. This seminar, "Leadership Basics for Doctoral und Postdoctoral Researchers," is designed to equip doctoral and postdoctoral researchers with the essential interpersonal skills to lead teams effectively. Participants will develop strategies to enhance communication, learn how to foster a collaborative and productive team environment, and explore their individual leadership style. There will be ample room for self-reflection as well as practical exploration of typical communication situations.

Participants will be able to

  • Understand the core principles of leadership in diverse contexts and their application.
  • Develop a clearer picture of a personal leadership style that leverages the strengths of all team members.
  • Apply interpersonal skills to improve team cohesion and communication.
  • Know conflict resolution skills to address and resolve team issues proactively.

The seminar will utilize a blend of interactive lectures, group discussions, role-playing exercises, and case studies to provide a comprehensive learning experience. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in practical exercises that simulate real-world scenarios, allowing them to apply the skills and techniques discussed.

Evaluation note: In this workshop an evaluation will take place.
