Institute of Translation and Multilingual Communication – Transfer of Credits
Applicants who were previously enrolled in the same or a similar program in Germany or abroad may be granted advanced standing.
Applicants who have already passed exams in comparable courses at their previous university can have their academic achievements recognized and may be granted advanced standing, i.e. they are exempted from earlier courses. The Office of Student Services is responsible for the application for an Admission with Advanced Standing.
Students who are already enrolled in a program at the Institute of Translation and Multilingual Communication (ITMK) should contact the ITMK before submitting the application at the Office of Student Services. Responsible at the ITMK are:

Students who want to transfer credits they obtained at a German university should hand in a certificate containing the following:
- Name of the course and a detailed definition
- Semester in which the course is offered
- Semester hours per week
- Final exam (original and copy of the certificate)
Consultation regarding the transfer of credits for individual courses can only take place after admission, because a student ID is needed.
Students who believe they have obtained enough credits in relevant courses to be admitted to a higher semester can submit an informal application (including all certificates and descriptions of the courses in question) to:
