Summer School GETEUROPEAN

The GETEUROPEAN summer school “Global and European Trade and European Business Environment” provides you with in-depth insights into the European economy and its relation with the rest of the world.

It also offers an excellent opportunity to gain new academic insight, rewarded with 6 US-credits (12 ECTS), first-hand exposure to the European business environment and European culture, cross-cultural and academic interaction with Cologne students and faculty.

Suitable for
Students from partner universities in the USA and other non-European countries who are completing an undergraduate degree program

Modules and credits
Module 1 Global and European Trade (3 US credits = 6 ECTS). This module corresponds to an elective course in “International Economic Relations (Summer School)” for students of TH Köln.
Module 2 European Business Environment (3 US credits = 6 ECTS). This module is equivalent to a typical elective in International Business Bachelor.

  • Lectures, seminars and workshops with professors from TH Köln
  • Guest lectures from companies such as L'Oréal Paris, DHL Group, etc. and international institutions such as the European Commission.

Leisure activities
There is time for leisure activities at weekends and on public holidays. Cologne is perfectly located close to Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Luxembourg, Berlin, Munich, Zurich and other popular destinations that you can easily reach by train.

We provide:

  • Every-day availability for advising
  • Reservation of recommended Hostel
  • Advising on accommodation and travelling
  • Accompanying to the University on the first day of Summer School
  • Facilitating communication with TH Koeln students
  • Arranging guided city tour in Cologne and to art museum

Where to stay
We recommend the Hostel Köln, located in the heart of the city, to reserve rooms for the participants of the summer school (the reservation is valid until Feb. 14, 2025). A double room with private bathroom, including breakfast, towels and internet costs about 50 Euro (per person, per night). As usual, it is also possible to make your own arrangements, especially with cooking facilities, e.g. via Airbnb.

Tuition fees
All Summer School learning activities are free of charge for students from our partner universities.

Costs of living
The cost of living for Cologne students, including accommodation, food, leisure, transportation, etc. is estimated by Studis Online.
The university canteen offers lunch, drinks and snacks.
