Vision and goals

It is the vision of the Institute for Insurance Studies to promote the skills and talents of the students entrusted to us and to qualify them for their future careers. To the extent that markets and companies become more international, we will make our courses more international. Furthermore, we are convinced that cosmopolitanism, interculturality and a distinctive welcome culture are important foundations for successful international cooperation in the field of education and science. In this respect, we not only want to prepare young people in the best possible way for an increasingly globalized labor market, but also encourage them to make their contribution to an open, international society. In order that the members of our institute can support our students in the best possible way, we also create opportunities for our institute members to gain international experience and intercultural skills.

In order to live up to this claim, we have set ourselves the following goals:

• Expansion of cooperation with our partner universities
• Increasing the proportion of our students who complete a semester or internship abroad as part of their studies
• Creation of English-language courses for the students of our institute as well as for students of our partner universities
• Intensification of cooperation with our sister institute, the Schmalenbach Institute for Economic Sciences
