Processor cooling with energy recovery

Prozessorkuehler 2 (Image: TH Köln)

The project focuses on the development of a liquid-based cooling system for computing processors.

The new approach in this project is a concept for the recovery of dissipated thermal energy, which is intended to improve cooling performance and at the same time reduce the size of the system components used for cooling in comparison with conventional cooling systems. In addition to system design, the teaching area "Manufacturing Processes" is particularly involved in the design and testing of suitable manufacturing concepts based on microtechnology and laser machining processes as part of a holistic approach.
