Completed doctorate Uyen Nguyen
Uyen Nguyen successfully defended her doctorate on February 1st, 2022, which she completed on the subject of "Harmonizing multi-sectorial water management with minimum flow requirements in an anthropogenically impacted river basin. The case of Vu Gia – Thu Bon, Central Viet Nam" in cooperation with University of Cologne (Universität zu Köln). Congratulations!
Uyen Nguyen completed her doctorate cooperatively under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Lars Ribbe (Institute for Technology and Resources Management in the Tropics and Subtropics of TH Köln) and Prof. Dr. Karl Schneider from Universität zu Köln. The research focused on developing an applicable methodology that includes transferable state-of-the-art techniques to determine the minimum flow requirement in an anthropogenically influenced river basins. Six different scenarios also have been designed to fully assess the spatial and temporal extents of the minimum flow requirements toward the changes in potential water use, sea level rise, and water use efficiency in 2050 and 2100. The research was funded by the Centers for Natural Resources and Development (CNRD).
