HINT
Post-COVID app facilitates communication
Motivation
Many people affected by post-COVID syndrome (PCS) have difficulties finding medical support. In addition, language barriers can make communication difficult. Using an interactive, multilingual application (app), affected persons should be able to access medical care independently and communicate easily with medical staff.
Aims and approach
In close cooperation with people affected by PCS and medical staff, the team researching in the HINT project is developing a multilingual application. The avatars in this app enable the recording of symptoms by voice input. A visualised representation not only supports those affected in understanding their own illness, but also helps them to overcome language barriers when communicating with medical staff.
Innovations and perspectives
The use of multilingual avatars contributes to low-threshold health education and makes it possible to better understand the course of post-COVID-19 disease in the long term. Based on the data collected in the app, researchers can develop treatment strategies tailored to individual needs.
