Research Center Educational Spaces in Childhood and Family
The research center educational spaces in childhood and family is dedicated to theoretical and empirical research into education in childhood and family. The aim is to contribute to the further development of the theory and discipline of childhood education as well as the sharpening and updating of its basic concepts and methodologies. In contrast to a social-scientific or professional-semantic deconstruction of education as an educational-political dispositive, the research focus aims to update education as an genuin childhood-related pedagogical concept and empirically question it as a constitutive subject of childhood pedagogy. To this end, it will draw on considerations from educational theory, educational philosophy and general educational science, as well as looking at the relationship between pedagogical concepts and theories and social transformation processes and developments in other disciplines.
