FEMOZ

Innovative research for resilient food security in Mozambique: Harnessing AI to drive sustainable solutions in the face of climate change and disaster risks.
The international research project focuses on the state of food security in Mozambique in the context of disaster risks and climate change. It evaluates dimensions such as food availability, prices, markets, product characteristics, accessibility, affordability, convenience, and desirability. The project also examines how increasing agricultural production, raising incomes, and lowering food prices impact nutrition. By raising awareness and sharing knowledge of best practices, it aims to drive real change.
To achieve this, machine learning models were developed to predict attributes such as energy and water supply, education levels, and wealth, forming a composite food security indicator compared to the IPC. Additionally, a PowerBI dashboard presents the project's findings to stakeholders through dynamic, interactive visualizations.
